Improving the Farnel Voting Scheme
نویسندگان
چکیده
Farnel is a voting scheme which first introduced the concept of a ballot box to exchange votes. Recently, Araújo et al. improved this concept to accomplish a voter-verifiable scheme in which voters receive copies of receipts of one or more randomly selected previous cast votes. The scheme, however, relies on a strong requisite to achieve security: trustworthy talliers. With the goal of removing this requisite, in this paper we propose a Prêt-à-Voter style receipt for this scheme. In addition, we present a novel way to initialize the Farnel box and a new scheme based on combining Farnel with Prêt-à-Voter style encoding of receipts.

An electronic scheme for the Farnel paper-based voting protocol
In this paper we present eFarnel, a new electronic voting scheme based on the paper-based Farnel protocol. The new scheme corrects problems observed in previous proposes to simulate Farnel electronically. Moreover, we also define a new kind of mix net, called F-Mix-Net, which is required by our protocol.

A number of recent voting schemes provide the property of voter verifiability: voters can confirm that their vote is accurately counted in the tally. The Farnel type voting schemes are based on the observation that to achieve voter-verifiability it is not necessary for the voter to carry away a receipt corresponding to their own vote. The Farnel approach then is to provide voters, when they cas...

متن کاملA Verifiable Voting Protocol Based on Farnel
Farnel is a voting system proposed in 2001 in which each voter signs a ballot. It uses two ballot boxes to avoid the association between a voter and a vote. In this paper we first point out a flaw in the ThreeBallot system proposed by Rivest that seems to have gone unnoticed so far: it reveals statistical information about who is winning the election. Then, trying to resolve this and other flaw...
متن کاملDouble voter perceptible blind signature based electronic voting protocol
Mu et al. have proposed an electronic voting protocol and claimed that it protects anonymity of voters, detects double voting and authenticates eligible voters. It has been shown that it does not protect voter's privacy and prevent double voting. After that, several schemes have been presented to fulfill these properties. However, many of them suffer from the same weaknesses. In this p...
